Orientation Section


Learn to intentionally and meaningfully engage with your community by creating a safe container, being an approachable resource, and providing care rooted in presence. This course is designed for those taking shifts on the Guardian Team so you have all the information you need before stepping onto your first shift. We will cover the basics of community care, so that no matter what role you take inside or outside of the Guardian Team, you will be grounded with resources that will enable you to flourish.


In this section you will learn:

  • Ethos behind operations on the Guardian Ship
  • Personal and interpersonal skills that prepare you for any role
  • Description of roles, expectations, and logistics of shifts
  • De-escalation toolkit used for interrupting and calming escalated behavior
  • And after all that work being a stronghold for others, resources for self care!





Green Dot Section

As a helper, it is important to understand and establish connection with those you are serving. This section provides resources to establish this connection through education on various states of consciousness, what can cause them, and how to create a safe container for those who may need it. This course is designed for both those who have experience in the field and are new to psychological/psychedelic harm reduction. After this course you will have cultivated a foundation of compassion and understanding for others undergoing a range of experiences, and the resources to sit with them through it.


In this section you will explore:

  • What harm reduction is and the need for it
  • Positions, roles, and expectations within the field
  • How to identify someone in psychological distress
  • The effects substances have on mental and physical states
  • Recognizing when to outsource other services
  • Toolkit and techniques to use with those in psychological/psychedelic crisis




Security Section

Creating a framework for community care is based on trust, communication, and collaboration. Using core human virtues to establish qualities of safety and security are much more effective than outdated fear tactics and threats. When we hold those we work with as fellow humans with needs just like ours, it creates an environment of safety, sincerity, and security. This section is designed for both those who already have experience in the field and to folks just starting out. This section will cover roles, duties, and perspectives of a security model based in harm reduction and de-escalation.

  • The history and need for a more conscious model of security
  • Positions, roles, and expectations in the field
  • Perspectives and values that drive the Guardian framework
  • A Security Toolkit and other techniques for various interactions
